Ernie Bird is a musical theatre composer & writer, audio engineer, music producer, actor & singer living in New York City. His musical RISE, with a book & lyrics by Gabrielle Mirabella, will be produced by the Theatre Now New York as part of the Sound Bites Festival. Currently, Bird & Mirabella are Co-Producing the Musical Women’s History Podcast, “What Will She Do Next?" Past guest stars who performed songs composed by Ernie include Kara Lindsay (Wicked, Newsies, Beautiful), Matt Lucas (Co-Host of The Great British Bakeoff, Bridesmaids, Dr. Who), Gabrielle Ried (Hairspray, Beautiful, The Color Purple) & many more. Ernie Bird received an M.F.A. degree at New York University’s Tisch School of The Arts, Graduate Musical Theatre Writing Program, with a full scholarship. He also received a B.M. degree at Berklee College of Music, double majoring in Music Production & Engineering and Music Management. Ernie has more than 6 years of experience in audio engineering, music production, and live sound. As an actor, he officially recorded voice-overs for Goofy Movie (Max), Hercules, Bad Teacher, and others into Ukrainian. His musical theatre acting experience includes The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee (The Pit, NYC), Legally Blonde, Cabaret, Midsummer Night’s Dream (BPC, Boston). Accolades for Ernie Bird include the International Songwriting Competition finalist award (2012), and semi-finalist awards (2013, 2017, 2018), Curtain Up Musical Theatre Songwriting Competition awards (2017, 2020).
